A career in front of the camera. Television, feature film, presenting. The work that taught me what a platform actually is, and what it is for.
I was born Zachary John-Deane Roesler on March 15, 1990 in Perth, Western Australia. My father was an actor just breaking into the business. My mother was a model and gym instructor. The set was a familiar room.
I got my first taste on stage at nine in a school production of Thor, then again as Arjun in the Mahabharata. By the time I moved to Sydney at eleven, I knew I wanted to perform. School was never my thing. The classroom held me back. The stage did not.
At eighteen I jumped in and never looked back. I trained, auditioned, got knocked down, got back up, and started landing work. Film, television, commercials, presenting. I spent time in Los Angeles, came back to Australia, and kept building.
In 2019 I became a professional presenter for Channel 75, a role I held through 2020. Since then I have been building my business ventures and the podcast while keeping the creative fire alive.
The classroom held me back. The stage did not.
That is what acting taught me before anything else. A camera does not just point at you. It points through you, at the people watching. The actors I respected most understood that. They were not chasing fame. They were carrying something. A story, a voice, a way of seeing the world that someone in the dark needed to hear. The work I do now, the podcast, the mastermind, the writing, all of it traces back to that.
